2 face charges after Route 8 road-rage incident in Litchfield

LITCHFIELD — Two men have been charged following an apparent road-rage incident along Route 8 north in Litchfield where at least one individual was pepper sprayed, state police said.

Howard Vasquez, 48, of Torrington, and Jordan Millette, 25, of Waterbury, were arrested following the disturbance in the middle of the highway near Exit 41 on May 3 at about noon. Police said Vasquez used pepper spray on Millette, who allegedly had thrown water at Vasquez and struck him in the face during the dispute.

Vasquez was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

Millette was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

Both men were released on $2,500 bonds and are scheduled to appear May 17 in Torrington Superior Court.
