Litchfield voters will have their first chance Tuesday to engage Republican candidate for first selectman Norman Sauer in a discussion of the issues facing the town.

Sauer and his fellow GOP candidates will hold a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. at the Northfield firehouse. A member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Litchfield Historic District Commission, Sauer is challenging incumbent First Selectman Denise Raap in the November election.

Republican candidates for the Board of Selectmen, John Bongiorno and Daniel Morosani, and GOP town treasurer candidate Alan Landau will participate in the town meeting, as will candidates for planning and zoning and the boards of education and finance.

Sauer secured the Republican nomination to run for first selectman during the GOP caucus in November.

A second town hall meeting will be held Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Bantam firehouse.
